Item Description
Steven Neshyba and Penny Rowe will drive four people to Swan Creek (in an electric vehicle) to have a walk and soak in the beauty and history of the place. Then we'll return to North Tacoma for coffee/tea/dessert to chat about climate change in the Pacific Northwest.
Steven Neshyba teaches chemistry and climate science at the University of Puget Sound, and is a long-time Reveler. Penny Rowe is a climate scientist at the NorthWest Research Associates, specializing in clouds and polar regions.
Item Special Note
The creek is not named after swans! But what is its history? Read the account at www.metroparkstacoma.org/history-swan-creek/, which includes a link to a monograph by long-time Reveler Claire Keller-Scholz.
