Item Description
Handwritten Wines was a dream that began years ago to craft wines from the finest fruit of the Napa Valley. We dreamt of returning to a simpler time when artisans crafted and nurtured their wines without the pressure of a release date.
Handwritten 2013 Cabernet Sauvignon, Calistoga 750ml
This classic Calistoga Cabernet is smokey and robust with fruit and spice to match. With an inky purple, almost opaque color and a nose that features damson plus covered in rich chocolate, we love this wine with anything coming off the barbecue or out of the smoker. We like to imagine ourselves enjoying this next to a campfire as the summer days yield to autumn nights. Cheers!!
Harvest & Tasting Notes:The Calistoga appellation boasts several unique characteristics amongst its fellow Napa Valley AVAs. Some of the most significant terroir markers here are the elevation, extreme diurnal change and high percentage of volcanics in the soil. For the wine in the glass this means balance, elegance, structure and minerality.
The 2013 Calistoga Cabernet Sauvignon offers aromas of plum jam, baking chocolate and wild red berries. On the palate, firm tannins and balanced acidity provide a sturdy framework for warm black fruit, spice and tobacco leaf. Drink now with a two hour decant or cellar for five to seven years.
