Item Description
Surgi Doll by Liz Pead: Cotton Muslin, cotton thread, industrial felt, felted wool (helmet, hockey puck and hockey stick) acrylic yarn (machine-knit hockey sweater and hair) and stuffed with wool and cotton thrums.
The Hockey Gal is for anyone obsessed with Canada's favourite pastime. My work deals with hockey as a physical passtime, much as any other creative endeavour (knitting, stitching, felting) which employs the body and brain working in concert. Game on, Hockey Sisters and Brothers!
Item Special Note
Liz Pead studied Fabric Surface Design (1993) and Textiles (1995) at New Brunswick College of Craft and Design and Drawing and Painting at OCADU (2007, Medal with Distinction Honours.) Liz’s practice spans painting, drawing, and textile art. As a recreational goaltender, and the culture of hockey informs her artistic practice.
