Item Description
A beautiful Hermes silk scarf in orange and red tones measuring 36" square, designed by Julie Abadie.
"Ciels Byzantins" or "Byzantine Skies" by the popular and prolific Hermès artist, Julie Abadie was issued in 1997. The design depicts the iconic styles and forms that predominate Byzantine decorations - geometric patterns, fanciful arabesques, and flowers and birds designs, all on a beautiful peacock jacquard weave. Silk jacquard has become too cost prohibitive for Hermès to issue their designs on, and as such, Hermès carrés issued on jacquard silk have become highly valuable to collectors.
