What to Expect During Botox Injections: A Botox appointment at Loftus Total Skin Care typically takes no longer than 15 minutes and is easily done during a lunch break. The appointment involves only brief, minor discomfort, so you will not require numbing, but, if you prefer, we are happy to apply topical numbing cream so that you feel nothing. You may experience some minor swelling or redness at the injection sites, but that will fade within an hour or two and is easily covered with makeup.

Results: Within 1-7 days, you’ll start to feel the effects of Botox, noticing a decreased ability to move the treated area. Within 1-3 weeks, you’ll feel the full effect of the treatment which lasts up to 6 months.

Recovery: Any redness or swelling that occurs post treatment will resolve in a few hours. Do not massage the area for at least 6 hours after treatment.

Typical Candidate: A typical candidate is over 40, but we have treated patients as young as 20 as a preventive maintenance regime. If you are pregnant or nursing, allergic to eggs, taking certain antibiotics, affected by any neuromuscular or collagen vascular disease, or have had a recent eye surgery, you may not be able to have Botox.
