Item Description

Khatam is an ancient Persian technique of decorating surface of woods with pieces of wood, bone or metal. “Khatam” means “inlaid”. Khatam frames are usually decorated with star-shaped patterns, made with thin sticks of wood, camel bone (white parts) and metal, usually copper or brass (golden parts). Khatam frames are handmade.

Dimensions :

Exterior is 8" high x 6 3/8" wide

Picture opening is 4 1/2" high  2 7/8" wide
