About Sally:
I am a painter, illustrator and an art teacher in Boston MA. My first love is traveling and painting! I love to paint the landscapes that I visit. I love to feel the sense of place and interpret it in my paintings. Before becoming a mom to my beautiful daughter, I had received two grants to travel and paint! In 2003 I received a "Fund for Teacher's" grant and travelled to Tahiti to chase after the painter Paul Gauguin. I lived on a boat,The Arunuii, for three weeks and explored the rarely visited Marquesas Islands. In 2010 I received a grant from the "Teachers as Artists" program and travelled across the country by train to Ghost Ranch in New Mexico where I painted the landscape of Georgia O'keefe. I then continued across the country. I travelled to Phoenix AZ and then onto San Franscisco and finally to Yosemite National Park. In Yosemite I had the chance to explore, paint and photograph the landscape that the painter Albert Beirstadt idealized in oils helping create the" lure of the West." You will find work from both these amazing adventures on this site. This website also shows my local Boston landscape work and my work from the coast of Maine.
