Item Description
The 4th grade students have constructed a sculpture inspired by the Mylar Ring Installation by Tara Donovan. The fourth graders used Mylar strips to create over 400 small cylinders. Then, they adhered the rings with spackling paste to a 36x60” canvas. Each class completed one quadrant of the piece to create an organic abstract shape. The classes learned to manipulate material repeatedly to see what it can become, where it might lead and how it will migrate from an object of practical use to something surreal or sublime.
