Item Description
Private Guided Tour for up to 10 people of the NYC High Line with docent Nancy Shamban.
Get an insider's look at one of New York City's most popular and unique parks, the High Line.
This 1 1/2 hour tour includes a history of the area and of the High Line, its design, plantings and architecture.
The High Line is a 1.45-mile-long elevated linear park, greenway and rail trail. It was created on a former New York Central Railroad elevated spur on the west side of Manhattan in New York City, with the first phase opening in 2009. The abandoned spur has been redesigned as a "living system" drawing from multiple disciplines which include landscape architecture, urban design, and ecology.
The park runs from Gansevoort Street – three blocks below 14th Street, in the Meatpacking District (near the Whitney Museum) – through Chelsea to the northern edge of the West Side Yard on 34th Street near the Javits Center.
