Item Description

This garment was made by New York designer Viktor Luna, who was born in Guadalajara, Mexico, and raised in Los Angeles. His eponymous collection embodies sophistication punctuated with dark sensuality and a punk-rock pulse.

Luna was inspired by this mid-1800s wool uniform coat with brass buttons worn by members of the militia company known as the St. Louis Grays. This coat may have belonged to Pvt. W. J. Robinson.
