This winegrowing estate goes back to the XIIth century, and is without a doubt one of the oldest châteaux in the Médoc. The medieval architecture features a towerbuilt in 1120 and the château is surmounded by a moat. La Tour Carnet has had several illustrious owners, including the family of Michel de Montaigne, one of thegreatest French philosophers and twice-elected Mayor of Bordeaux.

This dense purple wine displays notes of charcoal, subtle toast and white chocolate as well as blueberry and blackberry liqueur intermixed with hints of graphite and licorice. Dense, full-bodied, unctuously textured, and quite long and thick, this concentrated, impressively endowed wine is silky-textured and already accessible. It should keep for a minimum of two decades.
