In 2014, Bryan Davis perfected a process resulting in the creation of a 20-year rum in the space of a week.
Located in the Los Angeles Arts District, Lost Spirits Distillery is an amusement park for adults. You’ll gather in the lobby where a pair of topiary triceratops spring to life.
The first tasting room reflects The Pirates of the Caribbean. This is where you’ll have your first sip of multiple award-winning Lost Spirits Navy Rum. This liquid has the same chemical properties as a Navy pot still rum that’s been sitting in an oak barrel for 15 to 20 years, but it spent just six days inside one of Davis’ proprietary reactors.
Then, you’ll board a wooden boat that ferries you to a red-lit room with a pair of dragon-like copper stills. You’ll glide into the whiskies room, inspired by The Island of Doctor Moreau, and taste Lost Spirits' Abomination line, made from near perfect heavily-peated base spirits from Islay, Scotland.
Included are four Glencairn glasses, engraved with logos for both Lost Spirits Distillery and Northern California Public Media.
