Item Description
Ronald Reagan, former actor and Republican Governor of California, was the 40th President of the United States, serving two terms from 1981-1989. His campaign buttons are very collectible.
This 17-button collection contains 3 pins (the top 4) are from Reagan's "hopeful" campaign in 1976 when Gerald Ford was the Republican nominee and ran unsuccessfully against Jimmy Carter. However in 1980 Ronald Reagan won the Presidency and stayed in office for 8 years.
Reagan was a very popular President, leaving office with a 68% approval rating. He is known for his "supply side economics" (Reaganomics), reducing inflation from 12.5% to 4.4% and ending the Cold War.
