Item Description
Brooklyn and the Doorway, a limited edition (series of 50), signed giclée oby Cheryl Berech, professional artist and BASIS art teacher. This 20 in.x 16 in. canvas comes with a black wood frame.
Throughout her life as an artist and teacher in Africa, Europe, and the United States, Cheryl Berech has been impressed by the ability of people to persist in the face of tremendous adversity and the commonality of their hopes and fears. Her realistic, contemplative paintings depict figures in a symbolic relationship to their environment that invites speculation about the nature of that relationship and the internal and external conflicts that it might imply. Cheryl paints in oil, weaving a subtle tapestry of color that plays against strong contrasts of light and shadow. Originally from Phoenix, Cheryl studied art while at Arizona State University, UCLA, and the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Her work is in public and private collections around the world.
