A perennial favorite! Tom Mannion, Senior Director, Student Activities and Programs at Caltech - and renowned for his culinary classes, dinners, and wine pairings - will cook and host a personally designed multi-course dinner for up to 10 people at his home in Pasadena.
Available dates: October 25 and 26 and November 15 and 16.
Tom Mannion joined Caltech in 1993. In 2003, Mannion started the class PA-16 Cooking Basics (a survey of cooking and food science). This class is often referred to as the most popular elective class on campus. Mannion also organizes student events, pranks, clubs, leadership development and many other areas of student life. Mannion received his BA and did Masters work in International Relations at The George Washington University. He has earned certificates from the Culinary Institute of America in Wine; wine and food pairing; Mediterranean Cuisine; American Bounty; and Sauces, Stocks and Oils. His work has been featured on CNN and all local networks as well as in Newsweek, Reuters, NPR and newspapers across the country. During an interview with Patt Morrison of NPR, Stephen Hawking (cooking class regular) rated Mannion’s food 2 Michelin stars.
