Item Description
Obsessed with "Making a Murderer" and the first season of "Serial"? Did you breathlessly watch the OJ Simpson trial twenty years ago (or the FX series of recent years)? Now's your chance to get your burning questions answered.
Native New Yorker, celebrity attorney, co-founder of the Innocence Project and leader of the movement to end wrongful convictions, Barry Scheck will take you and a guest to his favorite coffee shop for a coffee and Q&A -- about criminal justice, politics, the Yankees, or whatever's on your mind. One of the great legal minds of our time, Barry has been involved with groundbreaking, legally and socially significant, high profile criminal defense and civil rights cases – including the defense of O.J. Simpson, Hedda Nussbaum, and Louise Woodward. In the late 1990s, he formed a civil rights law firm with Johnnie Cochran. Together, they represented Abner Louima, and other victims of police abuse. He played himself on episodes of The Good Wife (and was portrayed by both Rob Morrow and Peter Gallagher in major motion pictures). Through his work at the Innocence Project, Barry has been a major force for criminal justice reform in the U.S.
