Item Description
“Blue waters” is an original 30x40 acrylic abstract on canvas by Blue Day Art. Custom finished in a black wood floating frame. A thin gold band on the frame picks up the subtle gold leafing in the distant horizon.
Julie’s family is in their second year in Simsbury. All three of her children attend Squadron Line Elementary. She is happy to have the opportunity to give back by donating the Shine Auction.
Julie is a licensed artist with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Uconn. She was classically trained in all mediums. Free-lancing as an artist for years until officially opening her studio and business Blue Day Art over a year ago. The bulk of her business is commission based, catering to individual clients’ spaces and vision. Her projects are in homes from LA to Boston. She also keeps her website www.bluedayart.com stocked with current work.
Julie’s main current body of work is acrylic abstract ocean landscapes. As she describes it:
“My sea scape pieces are inspired by waters that are close to my heart. I come by my love of the ocean naturally. Growing up in California and landing on the East Coast shores as a teen with all my travels in between. It has always been one of my favorite subjects to paint. Water and skies are dreamy, filled with memory and emotion. The scenes I paint come from these embedded memories. Each sea scape is unique with a range of soft detailing, gritty painterly strokes, clouds, skies and surf.”
Thank you Julie for this generous donation!
