Item Description
Niles Canyon Railway
A railroad museum where the exhibits come to life!
Bid on four (4) Niles Canyon Railway Trip Passes
Each pass good for a round-trip weekend excursion
Return with us now to those thrilling days of yesteryear, as we take you back in time on a railroad adventure through the Nile Canyon. Steam and vintage diesel trains depart the 1885 depot in Sunol, and our station in Niles, several times on most Sundays throughout the year, come rain or shine. Round trips aboard our heritage trains last about 1 hour and 20 minutes - enough time to actually experience train travel of the past.
You may ride in one of our all steel Pullman coaches dating from the early 1900's, or enjoy the sights and sounds from one of our open Excursion Cars for fresh-air sightseeing at its best.
Along the way, you'll hear tales of how this historic route finally linked America's East and West Coasts together by rail for the first time and the stories of some famous characters who once roamed the Canyon, including Joaquin Murietta, Broncho Billy, and Charlie Chaplin.
Niles Canyon Railway is a living history museum interpreting the importance of our heritage railroads in the development of California and the nation.
