Item Description
Artist, Bill Puckett, had a natural talent as an artist from his early years. In the nineth grade he met artist extraordinaire Emmett Fritz. “I pestered him constantly”, Bill recalled. Emmett encouraged his father to send him to art school because he thought he had talent in drawing. After Bill completed his formal schooling, he studied architecture at the University of Florida. After that, he enrolled in the Ringling School of Art.
Bill has held several jobs to support his family througout his life. He followed a career in commercial art working as the Advertising Director for the Florida Times Union. He took a position as marketing director for the St. Augustine Alligator Farm and later became the genral manager of the St. Augustine Alligator Farm. After retiring from the St. Augustine Alligator Farm, Bill has recently begun to pay attention again to his artwork and opened his own Fine Art Gallery at 11C Aviles Street.
