This is a unique sculptural wall piece donated by Lawrenceburg artist blacksmiths Matthew & Karine Maynard, for the Anderson's Humane Society's 2019 Garden Party on-line auction. All components are in hand forged mild steel and the piece has been sealed with clear matte enamel topcoat (for interior only), and mounts with "hidden fasteners": has two holes in the back (to receive nail heads, for mounting on a wall).
About the artists:
Matthew and Karine Maynard are a husband/wife duo of designers, blacksmiths and artists who use metal and architectural space as their media. They specialize in hand-forged custom stair rails, furniture and applied design. Their work has been featured in international books & periodicals as one of the leading architectural artist blacksmiths teams in the world today. Their designs have been given prominence & awards by both the National Ornamental & Misc. Metals Association and the Artist Blacksmiths Association of North America. Their large railing commissions reside in homes and businesses from California to Italy. Smaller works are represented & sold by select museums and galleries.
