Dominic Nell “Farmer Nell”
Director of The Food Project and Owner of City Weeds
Dominic Nell is a photographer, an activist, and a farmer-chef focused on healing communities on various mediums. Nell aka @nellaware helped tell the true narratives of the #BaltimoreUprising in 2015 via photo journalism & video. In 2016, Nell spearheaded the #ToyGunRaid, a replica gun removal initiative in variety & corner stores in West Baltimore which led to a fine through policy. Also in 2016, #FarmerNell created #CityWeeds, a healthy food & urban farming business that grows microgreens & cold-pressed juices, which has a youth program called #BeMoreGreen which operates out of #TheFoodProject in SW Baltimore. Nell is often referred to as a "Renaissance Man", but he is just merely a "Man of Service". #FarmerNell is planting seeds of independence and sustainability, while #ChefNell is feeding minds & growing leaders.
