Item Description
Private tour (for up to four people) of the home of poets Donald Hall and Jane Kenyon, in Wilmot, NH, whose work conjures life in both an old and newer New Hampshire. Hall’s poems and prose, especially, lamented the loss of old generations and old landscape—and the conversion of special places into the indistinguishable. Eagle Pond Farm, where Hall’s family lived since 1865, was the inspiration for much of the former U.S. poet laureate’s work. Celebrate the legacy of Hall and Kenyon, their poetry, and their attachment to New Hampshire. Come take the tour and be inspired!
Donald Hall was an incorporator of the Preservation Alliance and a champion of preservation activity. Recently, intense efforts are underway to preserve Eagle Pond Farm so that its rich history may inspire generations to come.
Special Notes:
A tour can be scheduled at a mutually agreed upon date between June 2, 2019 and March 2, 2020.
