About the Irish Inn at Glen Echo: "What is now the Irish Inn at Glen Echo was built on the site of an old fram house owned by the Moxley family. In the 1930s, the house burned to the ground and was rebuilt as a Tavern in 1931 and became Otto’s Grill in 1944. Later serving as a roadhouse-type beer joint, it was known by all the locals ranging from the area bikers to the Washington lawyers. From 1986-2002 it was home to an upscale restaurant known as The Inn at Glen Echo. In April 2003, Christy and Libby Hughes along with his sister, Margaret Martinez purchased the inn and reopened it as the Irish Inn at Glen Echo. Today it not only stands as a landmark for the community that is rich with history, but it is also home to some of the best cuisine in the state of Maryland."
