Item Description

This ceramic vessel is inspired by Kokeshi - simple wooden dolls from Japan, characterized by their elegant and minimalist designs. Their artisanal and handmade nature creates a feeling of nostalgia for a bygone time where things were made one-by-one with time and care, intended to last and be passed down.

I play with form, color, and symbol; layering and repeating until they evolve into my own language. Delightfully expressive faces and simple line art with bold splashes of color characterize my work. My creations have the appeal of exclusivity - since each piece is hand-painted, no two are exactly alike. These differences give each piece its unique character, charm, and beauty

Wheel-thrown stoneware, cone 6, underglaze, red iron oxide wash, shino and commercial glazes, electric and gas firings.
