Item Description

Scott Hubble who owns the magical maple nursery, "Metro Maples" is generously donating a maple tree valued at up to $40 to our auction!  He is located at:

Scott does not ship so this is a great item for North & Central Texas people!  You will not regret a trip to his magical, beautiful nursery to see the endless varieties he grows! Please see his website!  www.metromaples.com

I (Mollie McCreary) bought 3 of these trees for my yard and am very delighted with them: "FIRE DRAGON TM Shantung Maple - A patented (PP #17367) Metro Maples discovery. This bullet-proof tree can take the full Texas sun and has beautiful burnt orange or red spring and summer growth that turns brilliant red to red-orange in the fall. A superior leaf shape and a better branching habit that makes for a more elegant looking tree. Grows to 28 feet tall and 24 wide in 15 years. Very nice two-toned brown fissured bark. Drought tolerant. Easy to grow. Texas A&M Superstar."

MetroMaples.com is in its 24th year as a quality grower of Japanese and Chinese (Shantung) maples. It began as the dream of Keith Johansson and now has an inventory of over 15,000 trees on 6 acres. MetroMaples.com currently produces and sells only maple trees and a few Ginkgo. Our motto is "A Maple For Every Spot," because we carry over 100 varieties that come in all sizes and colors--even for the heat and sunny or shady locations.

    •  MetroMaples.com is run by Scott Hubble. He is the owner, grafter, salesman, yardman, hose dragger, web updater, and bookkeeper. All plants are carefully grown by him.
  •  Scott has been seriously collecting and growing maples, azaleas, and rhododendrons in hot climates for many years. He is a Life Member of The Maple Society, North American Branch.
