Item Description
We are pleased to share with you an original work of distinguished artist Barry Moser, who has been creating limited edition fine letterpress broadsides alongside the Poetry Center at Smith College. Moser is esteemed in his field, and has worked on notable projects such as Moser’s 1982 Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland (winner of the 1983 American Book Award for Design and Illustration), Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, and an edition of the King James Bible--the first such endeavor undertaken by a single artist since Gustave Doré illustrated La Sainte Bible in 1865.
An experienced master of crafting together works of art and works of literature, Moser’s broadsides breathe new life into the words of revered poets including Sylvia Plath, Mary Oliver, Gary Syneider, and Ross Gay. Moser carefully selects elegant, thought-provoking lines of verse and pairs them with delicate, intricately detailed images to create stunning visual prints. Signed by both artist and poet, each alluring broadside is an exquisite addition to any space, inviting viewers to delve into the enchanting sphere of an artist’s imagination.
