William Gordon Winery, Alexander Valley, Estate Bottled Cabernet Sauvignon, vintages 2006 through 2011 and 2010 through 2015.

William Gordon Winery cultivates their grapes on the eastern slopes of the northern end of the Alexander Valley, the premier Cabernet appellation of Sonoma County.

Their winemaking philosophy is to make a premium quality Cabernet in small quantity with grapes picked at optimal ripeness. The hillside vineyard provides well drained soil that keeps yields low, producing the highest quality fruit.

The 2006 was their first release … a Silver Medal winner, The US Professional Wine Buyer’s Competition. This quality and delicious deep red wine boasts a rich bouquet of blackberries and cassis, with added expressions of blueberries and espresso. Full bodied with dense tannins, this very limited, 50 case production was aged in the finest French oak.

The 2007 is a Double Gold Medal Winner, San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. 325 cases produced.

The 2008 Cabernet resonates with a lingering soft fruity and toasty oak finish on the palate. Aged in the finest French oak – 225 cases produced.

The 2009 Cabernet received an additional 15 months of bottle aging before its release. Like the 2008 vintage, this dark red also enjoys a rich aroma of black fruit and sweet French Oak. This opulent wine finishes with soft fruits and toasted oak. Aged in the finest French oak – 325 cases produced.

The 2010 has a pronounced aroma of toast, vanilla and blackberry. Its spicy, black fruit and cassis flavors balance wonderfully with oak and acid. Tannins are fine, with an elegant, soft black fruit finish. Aged in the finest French oak – 550 cases produced.

The 2011 was aged in the finest French oak – 550 cases produced.

The 2012 has a nose of rich saddle leather and black fruit. On the palate you enjoy fresh fruit nuances of blackberry and cassis with a sense of cedar cigar box. Drink now or cellar for many years.
