Item Description
Quality reverse applique mola of a dog, handmade in Panama.
Framed 10-1/2” X 11-3/4”
Molas are handmade by the Guna people of Panama, using a reverse appliqué technique. Several layers (usually two to seven) of different-colored cloth (usually cotton) are sewn together; the design is then formed by cutting away parts of each layer. They are particularly interesting framed with the raw edges of the multiple colors showing, as with this mola.
