Item Description

The 2019 Kase interns would like to present their contribution to this year’s auction:
Bushido pot holders! Not only did the interns learn how much the Center brings the community together, but they also expanded upon their knowledge of Japanese American history and culture. Though the times of medieval Japan have long since passed, the virtues of the samurai remain essential to our everyday lives. The interns wanted to showcase their modern interpretations of these virtues by connecting them to imagery that has persisted through Japanese American
history. By showing us how such powerful images and virtues can carry the stories of our ancestors to future generations, they also remind us to pass down our own stories in the many creative ways that we can.
