Item Description
This succulent terrarium have been put together with love and care!
"Although, I enjoy creating these mini succulent gardens, I have no idea which exact types they are. I did handpick each plant from several different stores and selected them specifically for each arrangement. I chose to make these as my staff auction item because they are SUPER EASY to take care of and are adaptable to most environments - they can sit in the kitchen, bedroom or even an office. They will brighten and bring energy to any room.
As you can see, I prefer a simple, more open design – this allows for growth and ease in changing plants, if needed. They need very little attention – just a few tablespoons of water each week, a little fresh air (near a window) every so often, or when over watered, and a little bit of sunlight (indirect is best). Again, super low maintenance…so even if your thumb isn’t so green, you can easily take care of the terrarium.
Where did I learn to make terrariums? The Center, of course!
I participated in a workshop with Hiro of Utsuwa Floral Design, on Polk Street in San Francisco, in 2015 and made my first one. He took the time to share his love of plants and creating terrariums. We started with an empty round vase and our own creativity to add things from the bottom up; we planted the succulents, and added rocks, decorative shells, moss, glass and other items.
I enjoyed the class and thought… I am crafty and this wasn’t too difficult, so I decided to make a few as Christmas gifts. I created more here and there and even gave some family members build-your-own terrarium kits one Christmas. I hope one of my terrariums, and learning the ease it takes in creating them, will inspire you to create your own…it does take time and care though – so bid early, bid high and win one of my terrariums!
(We are having a contest…so PLEASE bid!)
Two-month guarantee
If one of the succulents isn’t so happy in its new environment and ends up wilted or dried out, please bring it by the Center, so the plant can be replaced. Some of the plants are new to me, but I thought they were kinda cool but not sure how they would survive."
Item Special Note
The winning bidder may pick up the items at the Center during normal business hours, or arrange shipping via U.S. Mail at standard industry rates at the winning bidder’s expense.
