Item Description
Cat-O-Lantern and Dot Dish – artisan made pottery from the Historical Landmark Greenfield Village, Dearborn Michigan.
Pottery made from the traditional process of mixing, forming the clay, decorating the product and firing the item in a kiln. Only hard labor, water, steam and fire are used to create designs based on early American forms, decorations and colors.
Cat-O-Lantern is 6.5” high, 4.5”wide and 5.5” deep: a jug style red ware with openings to illuminate a table by votive candle. Dot Dish is 5.25” in diameter and is used to serve guest condiments in Greenfield Village’s Eagle Tavern – where food is served by early American candlelight dining and recipes. The Dot Dish is the perfect size to use as a coaster for the Cat-O-Lantern when burning a votive candle to protect modern day surfaces.
Greenfield Village is an independent nonprofit organization celebrating the American experience of innovation, ingenuity and resourcefulness.
