Item Description
Graphite
21.75" x 17.25" x 1.63"
Linda Pearlman Karlsberg earned a BFA & MFA from BU’s College for the Arts and taught at BU, Art Institute and other area colleges. Linda exhibits widely across the US and was twice an AAM 8 Visions artist. In 2019 her work was shown at Steamboat Art Museum, Dedee Shattuck Gallery, Piano Craft Gallery, Royal Nebeker Gallery, Maryland Federation of Art, Brush Art Gallery, Canvas Fine Arts and more.
Life drawing is a regular part of Linda’s artistic process. In Head Bowed, with the simplicity of accumulated graphite marks, the artist suggests the figure's form, the feel of bone against skin, the stretch of muscle, the play of light and something of the model’s interior mood. This work is a response to the model’s simple meditative gesture and is an elaborated record of seeing the delineated forms of the back.
