Pao-Fei Kuo Yang is a ceramic artist. She is the Resident Artist at Harvard’s Ceramic Program. Yang specializes in hand built vessels and saggar fired tile work. She is the instructor of saggar fire workshops with the Ceramics Program, Office for the Arts at Harvard.

Red Star in Midsummer Night is a ceramic vessel. This covered multi sided vessel has a dark navy matte textural glaze accented by small metallic triangular decorative elements on three sides. It’s unique pit fired finish results from a firing method known as saggar firing, in which the work is placed within a larger vessel with other combustible material and then placed in the kiln and fired.
