Item Description

Spend the day at the beautiful grounds of Papahana Kuaola. Get your aloha aina geek on and learn from the two co-founders of the organization and co-owners of Hui Ku Maoli Ola Native Hawaiian Plant Nursery, Rick Barboza and Kapaliku Schirman. Enjoy an interactive learning session from two of Hawaii’s foremost experts on native Hawaiian plant life and the rich history of Waipao.

After the tour, be treated to a private streamside luncheon for 12 persons prepared onsite by Hawaii Food and Wine Festival's veteran chef Kealoha Domingo of NuiKealoha utilizing fresh local ingredients sourced on site and within the bountiful ahupuaa of Heeia. Kealoha is known for his indigenous influenced mea ai and respect for the Hawaiian cultural beliefs and foundations that he instills within the food he prepares. He also serves on the board of directors for this organization that curates and promotes land stewardship based on hawaiian cultural views and beliefs.

The winning bidder will also receive a gift basket including a Papahana Kuaola t-shirt and a selection of mea ai or food themed native hawaiian plants provided by Hui Ku Maoli Ola.
