Item Description
Calling all artists and creative types! Escape to the British seaside and take your creativity to the next level with a two-day sculpting class with renowned artist, Suzie Marsh, including a three-night stay in her self-catering “Stuga” log cabin in Cornwall.
Suzie Marsh is a long-time supporter of Animals Asia and is known worldwide for her sculptures depicting animals of all types, particularly those that are endangered. This is a rare opportunity to spend time learning from a master.
The Sculpting class:
You will have two days with Suzie in her studio learning how to make an animal sculpture in clay. She will show you how she works and help you to start one of your own. Hopefully you will get it to a finished enough stage for you to leave with her to dry out and be fired in her kiln. Once fired it can be sent on to you for a cost of no more than £25 (payable to Suzie before you leave). When you book this opportunity with Suzie, she will chat with you about the sort of animal you would like to make and suggest any information that you may need to bring with you to help you with your sculpture. Please be aware that your sculpture will need to be limited in size (no larger than around 30cm), due to the time available for working on it.
The “Stuga”:
This is a log cabin with one room plus shower room. The main room holds a king-sized double bed, bedside units, two chairs, TV with DVD, wardrobe, shelves, and a kitchen area with sink, cupboards, microwave, portable two ring electric hob and fridge. The shower room, also has loo, basin and heated towel rail. Towels, linen, crockery and cooking utensils are provided. Outside there is a deck, part of which is covered. Suzie is very sorry but dogs cannot be included because of her cats. Also, at present there is no Wi-Fi or live TV in the Stuga, but there is mobile coverage and 3G is possible. The Stuga in her garden is perfectly situated for those who love to walk or who love Cornwall. There is a footpath with lovely woods to walk in, or there is the beautiful north Cornish coast just a few miles away with Boscastle, Tintagel, Port Isaac and Polzeath beach all with 10 miles.
