Robert Paterson was Composer of The Year at Carnegie Hall from the Classical Recording Foundation and his works have been on the Grammy® nomination ballot for Best Contemporary Classical Album the past two seasons. The Book of Goddesses was named Top 10 favorite pieces of the year by NPR's Best Music of 2012. His works have been played by the Austin Symphony, Louisville Orchestra, Minnesota Orchestra, Albany Symphony, Vermont Symphony, and the American Composers Orchestra. Current engagements include a commission with the Utah Arts Festival via winning their 2013 competition, Safe Word with Fort Worth Opera's Frontiers Showcase, and Thre Way premiered by the Nashville Opera, American Opera Projects and American Modern Ensemble. An album of his choral works was recorded with Musica Sacra and conductor, Kent Tritle to top reviews by Gramphone and the New York Times. Paterson resides in New York City with his wife, Victoria, and their son, Dylan.
