Item Description
A commemorative brick from the Ambassador Hotel 1904-2019 in near Downtown Dallas, TX. A recent fire destroyed the iconic hotel just before an extensive renovation was to begin. The History of the Ambassador Hotel The Ambassador Hotel was an iconic Dallas landmark located in the Cedars neighborhood at 1312 S Ervay and Interstate 30. Jim Lake Companies was restoring the hotel to be apartments and other entities within the building when it burned last May. The early morning fire was spotted by a passerby who called in the fire. It was a total loss and has been demolished. Built in 1904 and originally named The Majestic, the building saw the likes of Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, and William Taft. Over the years there have been many changes and the most recent plans would have created a big draw for the Cedars neighborhood and sparked more redevelopment. 50% of the funds raised on the sale of the brick will be donated to the Cedars Neighborhood to help in the redevelopment of the area.
