Item Description
Local beader, Louise Sturdivant, designed and created this totally unique beaded bib necklace. It took a year to create this piece, Louise admits that "the beading of this piece was time-consuming, but it kept her from going crazy as she was home recuperating from her breast cancer treatment. Each bead is sewn individually and it was a work of love."
This beaded necklace is exquisite. It includes special beads that she has collected for years. There are no plastic beads, only Delica fine glass beads and swarovski crystal beads. The belly dancer medallion is vintage.
When worn, this beautiful bib necklace sits nicely against the body and it feels good.
As Louise created the pattern, the intricate image represents things "on stage". For example, the big hearts represent the "heart" these dancers put into their work. The circles under the hearts represent spotlights. The necklace has actual bells and coins to represent the belly dancer performing. Near the bottom of the lapels are feather designs.
More specifics about the piece:
15 inches long
9 inches across at the widest spot
As part of the description for this item, you will find a photo of the clasp on the back of the bib necklace. There is also a photo of the back of the necklace which shows how many stitches it took to sew each bead into place as well as the finished backing.
