Item Description
Andrew Baugnet is a Large Format Photographer based in Cooperstown, New York who specializes in photographic documentation of historic structures. This beautiful photograph was taken at the East Springfield Grange, and is set in a minimalist black frame. Framed photo measures 19.75" x 23.75".
As Baugnet recounts, "Grange Halls are the social structure, and root of the American farm. The Grange became an important foundation of rural social life and sought to change legislative and political policies for the betterment of farmers and their families and communities. They are places worthy of celebration for their cultural representation. I want and need to continue to further explore, and scrutinize the Grange hall. Such observations tell us something about what we are, what we were, and what we are becoming."
This photo depicts the pass through door for the grange. In order to enter the grange one had to mention the password .
