Item Description
Wine is the answer. What was the question?
Enjoy (2) bottles of Pinot Noir from Docker Hill Vineyard in Mendocino County, CA., which scored a 95 by Wine Enthusiast Magazine!
Barrel-aged 17 months in French oak, this wine was an instant favorite for Dan Goldfield, winemaker and owner of Dutton Goldfield Winery in Sebastopol, CA.
Docker Hill Vineyard, located on a mountain above Comptche, southeast of Mendocino, is owned by Aubuchon hardware store moguls, Bill and Karson Aubuchon. The vineyard, planted in 2010, sits at a higher elevation with a climate that "provides us a wine with a weighty body, full of richness, yet still fine - Dan thinks of the character of this wine as combining the silkiness of Green Valley with the heft of the Sonoma Coast".
Dutton Goldfield writes, "As soon as you smell this wine, you know there's going to be a lot going on. Layered aromas of blackberry, black cherry, violet, black tea, and thyme come on in waves... With its fantastic concentration, fine tannins and solid acidity, this is definitely a wine for the long haul, so be sure to set some aside."
