Item Description
The Larchmont Tavern opened in 1933 with owner Michael Bruno greeting his patrons in a single room of nine tables. His wife, Raffaela, cooked the meals in her kitchen upstairs. The couple lived over the Tavern in a five room apartment with their eleven children. Two generations of the Bruno family were born in that apartment. Serving their customers became a family affair for all of the Bruno family members.
Over the years the original space has expanded to its current structure. It was originally open only for lunch offering one selection each day. The Tavern now serves a full menu of quality home cooking for both lunch and dinner seven days a week. Current proprietors, Arthur Jacobson (a Larchmont native) and Martin Krouner are proud of the LT’s history and share the same dedication to its loyal customers.
