Item Description
A rare magnum bottle (1.5L) of CastelGiocondo, Brunello di Montalcino Reserve, vintage 2001. Highly prized by the media and wine critics, this is a 100% Sangiovese from the hills of Tuscany. A magnum is the perfect size bottle for a great dinner party and ensures the quality of the wine is perfectly preserved over the years. Vintage 2001 was exceptional and will be remembered for decades as one of the best in the century. The wine is perfectly mature, elegant, and complex, yet the structure and unprecedented quality of the vintage ensures the wine will continue to gracefully evolve for many years.
Earning an astounding 97 points from Wine Spectator, they wrote "Aromas of blackberry, licorice and tar. Full-bodied, with silky tannins, great mouthfeel and a caressing finish that's long and exciting. Builds and builds on the palate. Very close to the legendary 1997. Best after 2010."
