Item Description

In 1946, Douglas Ferguson and his wife, Rita, founded Pigeon River Pottery Works in an old tobacco barn, where local craftsmen turned balls of the area’s clay soil into works of art.

The couple moved into the home that’s now the Pottery House Cafe and continued making and selling pottery until 1999.
