Item Description
This voucher is good for one session of lessons at AC Swim Club. Children must be 4 years or older. Sessions typically run Tuesday - Friday for two weeks for a total of 8 lessons. Summer sessions usually run June through August.
History of the AC Swim Club
Ann Curtis Cuneo's passion and love for swimming moved her to try to provide the best swim lessons to as many students as possible. She credited her teaching progression to her coach Charlie Sava, although she continued to make improvements to her method throughout the years. Sava also designed the teaching pool, which is shallow throughout and allows the students to practice skill repetition to acquire muscle memory.
In April of 2019, the Cuneo Family passed their legacy on to two former Cal Swimmers, Nathan Adrian and Will Copeland. Nathan and Will acquired the facility and swim school with the goal of continuing with what Ann and her family started back in 1959. Like Ann, Nathan Adrian also won two gold medals and one silver medal in the London Olympics…although Nathan won his in 2012 as opposed to 1948. Will was an All American swimmer at Cal, swam professionally for 6 years, spent time training overseas in Sydney, Australia and has been teaching lessons for over 10 years. The Ann Curtis Swim Club is well placed to continue for another generation!
