Explore America's most historic prison with these Six (6) Daytime Admission Passes. They are open every day from 10 am to 5 pm (last entry 4 pm). Tickets are NOT valid for Terror Behind the Walls. Eastern State Penitentiary is not recommended for children under the age of 7. Tickets expire 4/30/21.
This was the world's first true penitentiary, a prison designed to inspire penitence or true regret in the hearts of prisoners. The original seven cellblocks spread like the spokes of a wheel and had running water and central heat before the White House. Its vaulted, sky-lit cells held many of America's most notorious criminals, including bank robber "Slick Willie" Sutton and "Scarface" Al Capone.
