Own this piece of true American Musical Theatre history with this framed original cover and sheet music page of George Gerswhin & Dubose's classic song "I Got Plenty O' Nothin'" from Porgy and Bess.
Original publisher's illustrated cover by B. Harris depicts a stylized plantation scene with the skyscrapers of New York in the far upper right background.
A folk opera in three acts, Porgy and Bess was first performed on October 10, 1935 in New York at the Alvin Theatre.
Lyrics on the the first page of sheet music read:
"OH I got plenty o'nuttin'; An; nuttin's plenty fo' me. I got no car, got no mule, I got no misery."
Black frame measures 29.5 inches x 22.5 inches with signs of distressing on corners and edges.
