Own this piece of musical theater history! Large Framed movie poster of the 1937 English-themed Hollywood musical comedy film A Damsel in Distress.
About the Movie:
Lossely based upon the P.G Wodehouse 1919 novel of the same name and the 1928 stage play written by Wodehouse and Ian Hay. The movie featured music and lyrics by George and Ira Gershwin, was directed by George Stevens, and had an all-star cast including Fred Astaire, George Burns, Gracie Allen, Joan Fountaine, Reginald Gardener, Ray Noble, Constance Collier, Mantagu Love and Harry Weston. It was the second and last Fred Astaire musical directed by Stevens.
The framed poster dimensions are approximately 30 1/4 by 44 inches (76.835 by 111.76 cm). Frame is a woodfinish and in beautiful condition. The poster itself has Fred Astaire, George Burns and Gracie Allen's names above the title an RKO Radio logo in the bottom left corner. and includes crediting of all above named creative talent as well as producer Pandros S. Berman.

Written by George and Ira Gershwin this song was introduced in the 1937 film version of Damsel in Distress and was sung by Fred Astaire. It is billed as one of Gershwin's "most beautiful, yet under appreciated ballads" - John Mueller. In the movie it was followed by a romantic dance break with co-star Joan Fountaine. ]

Frame measures approximately 29 1/2 by 22 1/2 inches (74.93 by 57.15 cm) and is black with signs of distressing on corners and edges.
