Item Description
"Chai Ku" Ink and Watercolor Original Painting and Haiku by Jill Minkoff.
Jill has a masters degree in Jewish Studies and spent six years in rabbinic studies. In recent years, she has begun to use art to explore aspects of the soul from a Kabbalistic perspective and to find delight in life through sumi-e style “seas of ink” paintings (where “seas of ink” tie us back to considering our Jewish texts of Torah, Mishnah, and Talmud) that include sometimes serious, sometimes fanciful perspectives for thought written in haiku style...”chai-ku”. She has also offered workshops in Jewish settings to use art to understand texts, prayer, one’s soul, and to just be playful. Jill lives in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont where she is also president of her congregation Beth El Synagogue in St. Johnsbury and a religious school educator. You can find her on Facebook at Soul Maps.
