“Who doesn’t love the ocean? Its vastness humbles us. Its beauty helps us find peace. Its strength helps us find our own.”
Local artist Carolyn Johnson’s surfboard art takes drawing technique to a new level. Her “softcarving” incorporates whimsical line work on the surface of her art and her “resin marbling” with high gloss with a unique blend of acrylics and metallic dance in the light. “Ritz Daydream” is a real surfboard that was saved from landfill. It was made specifically for this show. The white water bubbles look real – like you could step right into the surf. To date, she has created over 50 pieces of Recycled Surfboard art. These and her other art pieces can be seen on her website at www.CarolynJohnsonGallery.com. All inquiries are welcome.
