Item Description
Join JCDS parent, social psychologist and policy advisor, Dr. Nichole Argo Ben Itzhak, for wine and cheese, and an illuminating conversation deeply relevant to our times. The political polarisation we are experiencing today affects us all, however looking at it through a scientific lens can help. Science reveals valuable insights about the nature and impact of modern-day polarization in the U.S., and illuminates some effective tools for bridge-building--be it as a nation, within our local communities, or around our very own holiday dinner tables. An academic researcher whose work on intergroup conflict and conflict resolution has been published in leading journals, Dr. Ben Itzhak holds degrees from Stanford University, MIT, and the New School for Social Research. She is a member of the Terrorism, Conflict and Polarisation Panel at the World Federation of Scientists (which produces policy recommendations for governments), and is the Director of Research and Field Advancement at Over Zero, a non-profit organization in Washington, DC that advises philanthropy and governments, and partners with communities to prevent or reduce group-targeted violence. Join Dr. Ben Itzhak in her Needham home, along with other members of the JCDS community on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. (max 15 participants) Buy Now: $54 per person. For JCDS community families and their personal guests only, please.
